The Aviary Hotel

From the minute we arrived and throughout the staff were amazing. They were polite friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is lovely, it has a real open air feeling with lots of greenery and it has two great pools. It is in an excellent location in the centre of Siem Reap. The extras made it special though. You can easily hire the in-house remorques (tuk-tuks) with driver for a couple of hours or for the full day to go around the temples of Angkor to your own itinerary and at your own pace. Without any stress. The drivers were so friendly and helpful.

The Aviary Hotel exceeded our expectations. The location was amazing as it was an easy flat walk to Pub Street, all the markets, and the riverfront. There were also heaps of restaurants and shops nearby. The air conditioning in the room was fantastic (and needed after long days in extreme heat at the temples). Bed was super hard and uncomfortable to us as we love a softer bed, but hard beds are standard in SE Asia. Food was fantastic in the breakfast buffet and the cafe (shoutout to the lovely cafe staff and their delicious chocolate chip cookies). Our room was super spacious and extremely clean. Great shower pressure and cool crisp bedding. The two pool options were great as the courtyard one was really cool and shady for most of the day, which is refreshing, while the rooftop one was a great vibe and fabulous for when you wanted some sun. Both pools have nice step access, which is greatly appreciated! All of the staff were so kind, professional, and always helpful.
